Introduction

In the present era, aptly referred to as the age of communication, the existence of practical specialized resources that allow the application of modern knowledge in professional work appears essential, and undoubtedly, the field of dentistry is no exception.

This book is a translation of parts from Current Dental Terminology. This book is introduced as a suitable reference for reviewing dental treatments. It is not only useful for general and specialist dentists but also applicable in the management, planning, and all administrative and financial matters of dentistry. This book has attempted to utilize the proposed translations of terms from the Academy of Medical Sciences and the esteemed views of Mr. Dr. Ebrahim Yazdi, and in a few instances where a suitable Persian term was not found, the English term has been used.

Following several meetings held to formulate the relative value of dental services at the Treatment Deputy of the Ministry of Health, at the request of my esteemed colleagues, I undertook the translation of the aforementioned book.

I am deeply grateful to my dear friend Mr. Dr. Ali Moharami Sari, who has been an encouraging supporter in this endeavor. I also wish to express my gratitude to Dr. Zahra Mohaddas Rad, Dr. Mahsa Tarashi, and Dr. Mandeh Benabi, who assisted me in preparing this work, as well as Mrs. Mahtab Vahidi for typing and editing it.

In the first edition of this book, due to the necessity of expediting publication, unnecessary sections were omitted. It is obvious that what you have before you is not free of faults, and I would appreciate any guidance and criticisms from esteemed readers.
